About Triones
A material company that also makes things
We develop our own forged carbon, press it in-house, and machine it into parts — for ourselves, and for anyone with a drawing.
Why we started
We could not buy what we wanted, so we built it
Triones Comp began with a question we could not answer by shopping: where does forged carbon actually come from, and who decides how it looks? For most of the market the answer is a catalogue — a standard sheet, a standard grain, a standard colour card. If your part needs something else, you wait, or you compromise.
So we stopped shopping and started building. We went back to the raw material, worked out our own way of preparing and pressing it, and took responsibility for every step that follows: the block, the sheet, the machining, the finish. It took longer than buying would have. It also means that when a customer asks for something unusual, the answer is usually yes — because nothing in the chain belongs to someone else.
What we actually do
Four things we control ourselves
01
Short fibre, not woven cloth
Most carbon parts are made from woven fabric: a cloth with a pattern that repeats, laid in layers and cured. We work with short fibre instead, pressed into a solid block. There is no weave to align and no repeat to match, which is why every part we make has its own surface.
02
The press is ours
The material is prepared and pressed in our own facility, on a cycle we set. That gives us control over the way the grain forms — and it means we are not limited to whatever a supplier happened to produce this quarter.
03
Machined from solid
Forged parts are usually moulded near to their final shape. We cut ours from a solid pressed block instead. It is slower and it wastes more material, but it gives cleaner edges and holds the tolerances that small precision parts require.
04
Colour as part of the material
The colour is in the material, not on it. The tone runs through the whole block, so machining, sanding, and polishing never remove it — a refinished edge shows the same colour as the day it was cut. Our sheets are produced in ten standard colours, and we can work with you on a tone for a specific project.
What we make
From block to finished part
Watch cases and straps
Machined to fit the movement you already own.
Eyewear frames
Fronts and temples cut from solid, finished by hand.
Knife handles
Scales shaped to the hand, grain placed deliberately.
Pens
Small diameter work where the pattern carries the piece.
Jewellery
Rings, pendants, and one-off pieces.
Sheets and blocks
For customers who machine their own parts.
If it can be cut from a block, we can quote it. If it cannot, we will say so before you spend money on a drawing.
